Oracle Subinventory

What is Sub-Inventory?

A Sub-inventory is a unique physical or logical grouping of inventory material, such as raw material, finished goods and defective goods inventories. A sub-inventory can be the primary place where items are physically stocked. We must define at least one sub-inventory for every inventory organization and we must specify a sub-inventory for every inventory transaction.
Define Sub-Inventories

We define sub-inventories by organization. Each sub-inventory must contain the following information:
·         Unique alphanumeric name
·         Status
·         Cost Group (if you have Oracle Warehouse Management installed)
·         Parameters
·         Lead times
·         Sourcing information
·         Account information
