Replenishment Counting

Oracle Inventory provides additional methods for planning and replenishing inventories. The replenishment counting enables us to perform counts for non-tracked sub-inventories and then direct Oracle Inventory to check these counts against the minimum quantities that we specified. A non-stacked sub-inventory is an expense sub-inventory for which Oracle Inventory does not maintain on-hand quantity information. When we move valued material to non-tracked sub-inventory, Oracle Inventory automatically charges the appropriate expense account and discards the quantity. Non-tracked sub-inventories typically store the items of low value, such as office stationery.
Uses of Replenishment Counting:
Recall the replenishment counting is a method of ordering items for sub-inventories. We can perform counts for the non-tacked sub-inventories and then Oracle Inventory check these counts against the minimum quantities that we have specified. Oracle Inventory creates requisitions that are based on the sourcing options that we have specify for each item.
Replenishment Planning Steps:

The following are the steps involved in performing replenishment Counting.
Specify the requisition approval status using the profile options.
Use the INV: Replenishment Count Requisition Approval profile option to specify the requisition approval status.
Use the INV: Replenishment Count Line Failure profile option to specify whether the system should stop or continue processing in case a replenishment count fails.
Use the sub-inventories window to create the sub-inventories for which we want to perform replenishment Counts.
Assign items to sub-inventories using the Item/Sub-Inventory Window.
Defining sourcing information to the sub-inventories. We can define sourcing information at various levels, for example we can define sourcing information at Item/Sub-Inventory level or at the sub-Inventory level.
Enter the replenishment count header information using the Replenishment Count Headers window.
Enter the replenishment Counts using the Replenishment Count Lines window.
Process and report the count information for the system to generate requisitions based on the sourcing information. For example, if sourcing is from another sub-inventory then the system automatically generates a move order.
