What is an Oracle Inventory?


Oracle Inventory Overview
Oracle Inventory treats many different types of things as inventory.  Inventory can be:
  • Finished goods that you sell to customers
  • Services that you sell to customers
  • Spare parts for maintenance
  • Raw materials for manufacturing processes
  • Inventory you purchase from a supplier on consignment

Before we creating inventory organizations first we will define work day calendar
Define Work Day Calendar
A workday calendar is also used as Manufacturing (BOM) calendar, which is used for Planning, scheduling and counting purposes and it is used for workday pattern for a week.
Navigation: Inventory > Setup > Organizations > Calendars
Enter the values as per the below screen shot and click on Workday Pattern Button.

  • Workday calendar start based on start days of the year. 
  • Days will be in Sequence pattern. 
  • Total days (On & Off) should be 7 days. 
    Enter the values as per the below screen shot and save the changes.
Define Shifts: We can define Morning, Evening and Night shifts by clicking on Shifts Button.
Define Morning Shift and provide workday pattern and time details.
Workday pattern (5+2) for Morning Shifts:
Time details (9 hours) for Morning Shifts:
Define Day Shift and provide workday pattern and time details.
Workday pattern (5+2) for Day Shifts:
Time details (9 hours) for Day Shifts:
Define Night Shifts and provide workday pattern and time details.
Workday pattern (5+2) for Night Shifts:
Time details (9 hours) for Night Shifts:
After completion of calendar we have to build the calendar from Tools > Build.

SELECT * FROM BOM_CALENDARS WHERE CALENDAR_CODE='mcr wd cal'

SELECT * FROM BOM_CALENDAR_SHIFTS WHERE CALENDAR_CODE='mcr wd cal'

SELECT * FROM BOM_CALENDAR_DATES WHERE CALENDAR_CODE='mcr wd cal'

SELECT * FROM BOM_CALENDAR_EXCEPTIONS WHERE CALENDAR_CODE='mcr wd cal'
