Approval Hierarchy

Position Based Approval Hierarchy in Purchasing Overview:
For Approval of Purchase Documents we can set hierarchies. There are 2 types of Hierarchies which are mainly used
1.Employee-Supervisor Hierarchy
2.Position Hierarchy
Here we will see the settings of Position Hierarchy and Purchase Order approvals Using the Position Hierarchy.
To Set up Position Hierarchy we need to set up the following:
Define Job
Define Position
Define Position Hierarchy
Define Employee
Assign Job and Position to the Employee
Define Approval Groups
Assign Approval Groups to Position
Define Buyer
Define User
Run Report “Fill Employee Hierarchy”
We will take the below users in our Example
Define Jobs: Job is a generic name of the employee designation.
Navigation: MCR HRMS > Work Structures > Job > Description > New
Enter the values for Job code and name and click on OK. Save the changes.
 
Define Position:Position is a specific name of the employee designation or job.
Navigation: MCR HRMS > Work Structures > Position > Description > New
Enter the values for JMM (Junior Material Manager) and  assign the HR organization and job  and save the changes. Similarly create two more positions for AMM (Assistant Material Manager) and MM (Material Manager).



Define Position Hierarchy:
Navigation: MCR HRMS > Work Structures > Position > Hierarchy
Note: After entering the Name, Primary check box, version and Date From  (Save) we need to keep the cursor on Position Name and press F11 and query for the top most position (mcr-p3 mm) and enter the subordinates details by click on Down Arrow button.


Note: We can’t make change the top position of this hierarchy but we can modify the subordinate positions. We can modify this hierarchy at any point of time except top position.
Define Employees: Define employees and assign HR organization, job and position.
Navigation: MCR HRMS > People > Enter and Maintain > New
Enter the last name, Gender, Action as Create Employee and date of birth save the changes. Once we save employee number will generate automatically. Click on Assignment button.
 
By default organization is our business group now change to HR Organization. Assign the job and position and save the changes.

Create another employee for mi Robert like bellow and save the screen and click on Assignment button to assign the HR Organization, job and position.


Similarly for employee mcr Raheem.
