Locator Control - Continuation

To Define Pre Specified Locator
Navigation: Setup > Organizations > Stock Locators > New

Locator Control: Item Level

We have done Miscellaneous transaction for sub inventory MIH-S4, so we can’t make locator control as Item Level, if we try to make change as Item Level we will get below error.

But we can create new sub inventory MIH-S5 and change locator control as Item Level.

If we do Miscellaneous transaction for item MI-lctr01 in Sub Inventory MIH-S5 locator is not required, because we specified locator control as No Control at item MI-lctr01 level.

If we try to do change  form No Control to Dynamic Entry or Pre-Specified it will throw below error.

Define new item MI-lctr02 in Item master and select locator control as Dynamic Entry.

Now if we do transaction for new item MI-lctr02 in Sub Inventory MIH-S5, now locator is required/mandatory to enter a value.

To Restrict items in specific sub inventories:

Restrict Sub inventories: Indicate whether to restrict transactions of this item to or from a subinventory specified in a list you define with the Item/Subinventory Information window. This option must be turned on if you choose to restrict locators.

Restrict Locators: Indicate whether to restrict transaction of this item to or from a locator specified in the list you define with the Item/Subinventory Information window. You cannot restrict locators unless you also restrict subinventories.

Navigation: Setup >Organization >Sub Inventories > Open > Query for MIH-S5

Click on Item/Sub Invetory and enter the values as per the below screen and save.

If we do miscellaneous transaction for item MI-lctr03 Sub Inventory MIH-S5 and locator 3.3.1 values only will come, this means sub inventory and locator is restricted.
